In 1991, the steel foundries in the Mühlental were closed down and with them the operation of the works railway.
After an intensive search and a lot of research work, locomotive Ge 2/2 78 was found in France and transported to Schaffhausen, where it was restored with great dedication.
The company MEDIPACK AG would like to preserve this cultural asset for future generations and is giving the works railway a home again in the Mühlental.

The former fire station of the Georg Fischer company fire brigade is also located on Mühlentalstrasse and is now part of the MEDIPACK AG property. The building was severely damaged by a falling tree during a storm. After substantial renovation, in which the old building fabric was preserved as far as possible, the building now shines again in its former splendour and can be used for company or external events.
